Compliance status

Usable Access is committed to making usableaccess.io accessible to the broadest possible audience, regardless of ability or the technology used to access it.

Current position: We believe usableaccess.io is substantially compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We test our pages against accessibility criteria during development and review them on a regular basis. Several colour pairs on this site achieve AAA contrast ratios (7:1 or above); the remaining pairs meet AA (4.5:1 or above).

Technical specifications

usableaccess.io is built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Pages are designed to work with the following assistive technologies and browsers:

  • Screen readers: VoiceOver (iOS and macOS), TalkBack (Android), NVDA (Windows)
  • Keyboard-only navigation (no mouse required)
  • Browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
  • High contrast mode and forced colour settings
  • Reduced motion settings at the operating system level

Pages use semantic HTML landmarks, ARIA attributes where necessary, skip navigation links, and visible focus indicators. All images have text alternatives. All form controls are labelled. No content flashes more than three times per second.
